The composer, pianist, teacher, author and Gramophone contributor, Peter Dickinson, celebrated his 80th birthday in November. To mark the occasion Heritage Records released a new recording of Dickinson’s Violin Concerto coupled with reissues of his concertos for piano and organ. 

Gramophone’s James Jolly spoke to Peter Dickinson about his years in New York, his encounters with John Cage and his passion for both American and French music. And they also spoke about the three concertos.
